- LMU’s upcoming 24-hour test race has been cancelled
- Replaced by a single slot 12-hour test race
- Further test races may be required before next 24-hour event
Le Mans Ultimate’s next scheduled 24 Hours of Le Mans driver swap race has been cancelled, it was announced today (18th February 2026).
Owing to technical issues, the twice-around-the-clock event has now been replaced by a 12-hour test race featuring a 62-car grid with a single time slot (10:00 UTC), as Motorsport Games and Studio 397 work to resolve ongoing server concerns.
“…We’ve identified some unacceptable service issues when running events with 130+ clients connected to servers – which is expected for longer races and 62 car grids like Le Mans,” an official statement said.
“These issues don’t show up in smaller races but become critical at this scale.
“We found some anomalies with the network traffic within containers on these high-load servers… it won’t be possible to run the level of testing required to give us enough confidence to run several 24 hour races concurrently next weekend,” the statement concluded.
If all goes well with the 12-hour test race, another will be immediately scheduled for Saturday, 28th February, in the same time slot, with MSG not ruling out further tests ahead of LMU’s next 24-hour race.
Feedback

Feedback from LMU’s shorter team driver swap races has been largely positive thus far, but some drivers continue to experience server-based issues, necessitating extra tests.
The developer will naturally be keen to refine the game’s multiplayer experience ahead of the resumption of the Le Mans Virtual Series esports competition, which is expected to begin later this year.
The series was previously run on Studio 397’s rFactor 2 sim, but faced stiff criticism after a series of disconnects and technical issues marred the 2023 event, with four-time Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen publicly airing his displeasure during the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual.
