Paid DLC confirmed for Tokyo Xtreme Racer

Genki has confirmed that it's working on bringing paid DLC packs to Tokyo Xtreme Racer in future.

It’s been a long time coming, but it appears Tokyo Xtreme Racer will be receiving paid DLC car packs in the not-too-distant future.

In the past week, the developer of the arcade racing reboot, Genki, has showcased five cars that are presumably coming to the game as part of a collaboration with diecast model manufacturer MINI GT: Honda Civic Type R (FL5) 2022,  Toyota Supra RZ (JZA80) 1997, Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II (BRN34), Datsun Sunny Truck 1200 Long Body Deluxe (GB121) ’79 and Datsun Sunny Truck MINI GT RS-02X “Kagami”.

Now, it appears the MINI GT partnership will yield a DLC pack, as Genki confirmed it will be adding paid-for content to the game, apparently for both PC and PlayStation 5 versions:

‘We are currently working on new paid DLC for Tokyo Xtreme Racer,’ stated the Japanese developer.

‘Our goal is to deliver new content that will give everyone who has enjoyed the game even more to look forward to. Further details, including the content and release timing, will be announced at a later date,’ the official statement continued.

Although the specifics and quantities of the DLC have yet to be revealed, the developer has confirmed it will add more Guest Rivals – boss vehicles and characters you can race against in the game’s career mode – in future.

‘We also plan to expand our collaborations beyond what we have done so far, working with people and partners from a wider range of fields,’ concluded Genki, intriguingly.
