Another car has been confirmed for v1.0 of Tokyo Xtreme Racer, with the FL5 Honda Civic Type R revealed by developer Genki.

In a teaser video, the range-topping hot hatch was showcased, becoming the fifth Honda to be officially confirmed for TXR’s v1.0 release, which was last week revealed to be coming on the 25th of September.

As is traditionally the case with Genki’s TXR videos, at the end of the teaser another car was glimpsed, suggesting that the Honda S2000 will also be making its way to the arcade racing reboot.

The S2000 will likely be a hit with fans thanks to its high-revving two-litre, normally-aspirated engine. Peaking at 9,000 rpm, the original S2000 was manufactured between 1999 and 2009, garnering a cult following in the process.

Being a two-seater soft top, the S2000 isn’t the most practical of vehicles, and its twitchy handling isn’t to everyone’s tastes, but TXR would somehow feel incomplete without it.
