Saber Interactive’s Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game has now gained a killer feature: multiplayer co-op. The communal online mode is now accessible as a beta build on the PC Steam version only, adding a whole new perspective to its driving experience.
A total of four players can now drive cooperatively, providing the kind of feature that made its predecessor Snowrunner so popular with fans.
Despite Expeditions releasing in March 2024 and a major ‘Breaking Ground’ update being released last month, multiplayer had yet to materialise, angering a portion of the game’s passionate community.
Saber Interactive has built up a solid back catalogue of driving exploration games, however, with the likes of the aforementioned Snowrunner, Dakar Desert Rally and a reimagined version of the classic Mudrunner experience, Mudrunner VR, released recently.
Saber Interactive will no doubt hope Expeditions’ latest co-op beta build will appease some of the concerns raised by fans, especially as all players don’t need to own DLC to play with friends: as long as the host owns the DLC, others can participate freely, with mods also being compatible in co-op mode.
