Gran Turismo 7 adds 10 new engine swaps

It’s new update day for Gran Turismo 7 players, and with it come new challenges, three fresh cars and a series of small tweaks. Oh, and 10 further engine swap combinations.

The highlights include fresh motors for the new (to the game) Renault Twingo and Porsche 911 Turbo S – not always, but usually, the latest models wait a month to receive a lump-switch option.

There’s the first-ever McLaren to be available with a different engine, and the Lexus LFA can now be swapped too. But why would you ever change that sonorous V10? Well, you may if you can add in the McLaren F1 GTR’s unit…

Mind you, the swap costs a ginormous 10,100,000 credits.

The classic Alfa Romeo Giulia can now have the modern-day Giulia’s engine, moving from a paltry 95bhp to a stratospheric 489bhp by comparison.

• Renault Megane R.S. Trophy ’11: GTI-VGT-Gr.3 – N/Acc 551bhp – 325,000 credits (can have the Renault Espace F1 engine already)
• Renault R4 GTL ’85: K24A-Civic – N/Acc 389bhp – 250,000 credits
• Renault Twingo ’93: K24A-Civic – N/Acc 389bhp – 250,000 credits
• Volkswagen Scirocco R ’10: GTI-VGT-Gr.3 – N/Acc 551bhp – 325,000 credits
