Sim racing platform Low Fuel Motorsport has entered into a relationship with Brazilian developer Reiza Studios, adding Automobilista 2 to its lineup of compatible titles.
LFM is a massively popular hub for online sim racing and already supports the likes of Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione and EA SPORTS WRC. The service used to support rFactor 2 but this was dropped after the emergence of Studio 397’s proprietary online matchmaking system, RaceControl.
The partnership will not only see players’ online AMS 2 stats tracked in great detail; including race wins, fastest laps and safety rating, but also lead to more intensive work on the sim, with LFM stating that ‘the collaboration is expected to fuel further developments of AMS 2’s Multiplayer [sic] system.’
The LFM partnership should help shore up AMS 2’s online service, with current multiplayer numbers comparing poorly to much older titles like AC, frustrating players not participating in organised leagues. If LFM implements in-game daily races and other accessible events, for example, multiplayer numbers could explode, owing to the sim’s diverse range of cars, tracks and motorsport disciplines.
AMS 2 has enjoyed a string of DLC packs and updates in recent months, with North American sportscar racing body IMSA coming on board, prompting hopes that all of the series’ cars and tracks will be made available in the future.

IMSA LMDh cars like the BMW M Hybrid V8, Porsche 963 and Cadillac V-Series.R are already in-game with Road Atlanta set to join them in AMS 2’s next big update.
The exact nature of the LFM/AMS 2 deal is yet to be revealed, but more details will be announced in due course.
