Over two years after its initial PC release, Make Way is getting a free ‘World Tour’ update alongside a paid car DLC pack next month.
Set to release on 14th May, the free update will add four community cars based on a ghost, a fish, a snail and a duck. These cars were designed by the competition, with the winners selected last year. and will be joined by four additional, yet-to-be-announced cars.
Alongside the cars, the update will feature three new environments set on a tropical island, the lunar surface and inside a toy room, as well as a new team-based mode.
There will also be a paid DLC in the form of the ‘Legends Vehicle Pack’, featuring ten vehicles inspired by iconic Hollywood and rally cars.
Showcased in the trailer, these include homages to Back to the Future’s DeLorean, Ghostbusters’ Echo 1 and Mad Max’s Ford Falcon, among others.
The new content follows last year’s update, which expanded online and local multiplayer to six players and added new customisation options and three extra vehicles.
Inspired by classic car combat games like Micro Machines and Mashed, Make Way is a manic multiplayer racing game, where players are eliminated if they fall behind or off the track. In an added twist, players build the circuit before each round, adding corners, corkscrews and hazards. It all makes for some gloriously heated multiplayer matches, though the game can also be played solo with AI opponents.
A physical version of Make Way was also released in February for PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
