Jected – Rivals is a stunt-based racing game, formerly Stuntfest

Developed by Pow Wow Entertainment, Jected – Rivals is primarily a driving game, but you can jump from your vehicle and use jetpacks and strategically placed trampolines to traverse around the tracks.

In fact, we suspect the ejection of your character (from customisable cars) is where the title receives the inspiration for the fresh moniker. We must say, the name is taking some getting used to…

It also leans heavily towards online gameplay, with crash matches (read demolition derby), stunt challenges and races all possible.

In its former life of Stuntfest: World Tour, there were several open weekends and online playlists, with the feedback from the community helping shape the title originally slated for a 2022 release.

Up to 18 players can compete together, with the aim of becoming a Jected tournament champion, where your results determine if your qualify for the next round – akin to Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, but in cars…

So one round may be a destruction arena, fight to the death in vehicles. The next may be a car race, then how far you can eject your character from a vehicle and the finale a jetpack skill challenge. And so on.

“The new game from Vienna-based studio Pow Wow Entertainment is 50% action, 50% racing, 50% flying & crazy stunts, so it’s 200% fun,” said Florian Emmerich, Head of PR at the game’s publisher THQ Nordic.

The pivot now sees Jected released on PC via Steam as a free-to-play Early Access title on 4th May 2023, with optional paid DLC. Console versions are not confirmed at this time.

As the game will develop over time through the Early Access phases, we’re hopeful that the vehicle handling has a bit more precision since the earlier builds and that it comes together as a cohesive, slick, experience.
