F1 Manager 2023 is set to build on the success of its predecessor, F1 Manager 22, this summer, by introducing new game modes, refined animations and more realistic depictions of Formula 1 processes than you can shake a carbon fibre turning vane at. 

We outline below some of the main points of interest to F1 Manager fans, detailing what they should expect from the successor to the fun-yet-flawed strategic motorsport sim when it releases this summer. 

Who is developing F1 Manager 2023? 

F1 Manager 2023 is being developed by Frontier Developments, the same studio that worked on F1 Manager 22. 

Which platforms will F1 Manager 2023 be available for? 

F1 Manager 2023 will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. 

F1 Manager 23

Will F1 Manager 2023 feature all the tracks, cars and drivers of the 2023 Formula 1 season? 

Yes, F1 Manager 2023 is set to feature all the tracks, cars and drivers of the 2023 Formula 1 season. 

Will you be able to manage Formula 2 and Formula 3 teams in F1 Manager 2023? 

No, you will not be able to take over and manage Formula 2 or Formula 3 teams in F1 Manager 2023. However, their seasons will take place in the background of the Formula 1 season in progress, allowing players to judge prospective drivers in more detail. 

It will also now be possible to sign a driver to start the following season. 

F2 and F3 Practice, Qualifying and Race sessions will all be simulated and have results available to view, with championship positions constantly updated.

Will Losail and the Las Vegas Strip Street Circuit be included in F1 Manager 2023?  

Yes, both the Losail Circuit in Qatar and the USA’s Las Vegas Strip Street Circuit will be included in F1 Manager 2023. 

Will Sprint races be included in F1 Manager 2023? 

Yes, Sprint races will feature in the F1 Manager 2023, with six set to take place in the 2023 Formula 1 season.  

These will take place at the Baku City Circuit in Azerbaijan, Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in the USA, the Losail International Circuit in Qatar, the Red Bull Ring in Austria and Interlagos in Brazil.

Is it possible to view tyre temperatures during a race in F1 Manager 2023? 

Yes, it will now be possible to monitor and evaluate tyre carcass and surface temperatures, with wear affected by external factors such as ambient temperature or how hard a driver is pushing. 

How will a driver’s confidence stat affect their performance in F1 Manager 2023? 

F1 Manager 2023 introduces driver confidence stats to the game, which can impact their race performance. If confidence is low, drivers may make more mistakes and be less consistent. If confidence is high they are more likely to pick up positions and outperform their car’s abilities.

Is it possible to save during a Formula 1 weekend in F1 Manager 2023? 

Yes, it will now be possible to save your game between practise, qualifying and race sessions, easing the commitment needed to play through a full race weekend. 

Can you create an 11th team in F1 Manager 2023? 

No, you cannot create an 11th team in F1 Manager 2023. 

Will F1 Manager 2023 have mouse and keyboard support for consoles?

Yes, as revealed during an official Livestream event, F1 Manager 2023 will now feature mouse and keyboard support for consoles.

Will F1 Manager 2023 have any new game modes? 

Yes, F1 Manager 2023 will feature a new Race Replay mode, allowing players to jump in and change the course of a 2023 Formula 1 race scenario. 

When will F1 Manager 2023 be released? 

F1 Manager 2023 will be released digitally on the 31st of July 2023 across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a physical release for all console versions to follow.

F1 Manager 2023 is available to pre-order now, with three unique scenarios to play through as a pre-order bonus.

Will there be an early access version of F1 Manager 2023?

Yes, there will be a Deluxe Edition of F1 Manager 2023 (F1 Manager 2023: Deluxe Edition) which will enable players to play the game four days ahead of its release date (27th of July). This version of the game will also include 12 scenarios.

Does F1 Manager 2023 feature the Visor Cam?

Yes, F1 Manager 2023 will feature Formula 1’s visceral onboard Visor Cam, giving players a driver’s eye view of the on-track action. All drivers will have their own visor types too, with some drivers favouring darker tints. These will be weather-dependent, too.

Will F1 Manager 2023 feature better race animations? 

Yes, Frontier Developments is set to improve the way cars behave on-track in F1 Manager 2023, making the way cars move in relation to how aggressively the driver has been instructed to drive. This should include better use of kerbs. 

Will you be able to level up your pit crew in F1 Manager 2023? 

Yes, F1 Manager 2023 is set to include an option to create pit crew training regimes with the help of a sporting director. This involves balancing crew members’ morale and energy levels. 

How much will F1 Manager 2023 cost?

The standard version of F1 Manager 2023 will cost £44.99 across PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, with the Deluxe Edition costing £54.99 (although it’s listed as £55 on the PlayStation Store, oddly).
