Hot off the back of SCS Software’s huge v1.44 update for American Truck Simulator, the Czech developer has teased updates for its upcoming Montana and Texas DLC packs, set to arrive with build v1.45, plus updates to its current Wyoming DLC.

Montana DLC

Montana is located in the northwest of the United States, bordering Idaho, Wyoming, North Dakota and South Dakota, with Canada across its northern limits. The region is famous for its mountainous terrain, featuring great grassy plains and scenic valleys, all of which have been faithfully reproduced in ATS.

The landscape lends itself to mining and a gold rush in the 19th century led to an influx of prospectors and the state’s official formation. These days, Montana is better known for its coal, copper and talc production, reflected in ATS by the appearance of a Talc Factory and the Signal Peak Coal Mine in-game.

Wyoming DLC

SCS Software has also highlighted updates to the City of Cody for its existing Wyoming DLC. Bordering seven states, including Montana, Idaho and Colorado, (all of which are covered by ATS DLC packs, or soon to be) Cody in Wyoming is known as the gateway to Yellowstone National Park.

The city is the ‘Rodeo capital of the world,’ so expect plenty of agriculture-based industries in-game, as well as references to the city’s famous founder, William Frederick “Buffalo Bill” Cody, including the Buffalo Bill Dam and Visitor Centre.

Cody will also bring a waste transfer station and truck trailer service to ATS, including the historic U.S. Route 14 which runs through Yellowstone.

Texas DLC

SCS Software sheds some light on one of the new features coming with its Texas DLC for ATS. Water towers!

These may be somewhat alien to us in the UK since all our water regularly falls from the sky, but Texas water towers provide citizens in residential areas with pressurised water thanks to a combination of their height and gravity.

It’s a minor but authentic touch, adding extra variety to ATS’s landscape.

No release date has been given for the Texas or Montana DLC packs yet, but ATS fans can still enjoy the recent Lode King and Prestige Trailers DLC released early this month. The forthcoming v1.45 update will also bring an updated Wyoming DLC pack, so if you own this already the changes will be free of charge.

Are there any features of the forthcoming ATS updates you’re looking forward to? Let us know in the comments below.
