Corsair’s takeover of Fanatec has officially been acknowledged by the Californian company, with CEO Andy Paul addressing some of the concerns raised by the German sim racing brand’s customers.
News broke last week that Corsair had purchased all business assets of Fanatec’s parent company Endor AG, including all employment contracts, with Endor also liquidated as part of the process.
This led to many Fanatec customers fearing that product warranties would be declared invalid or lead to the complete shuttering of the business.
However, a newsletter sent to Fanatec customers today (19th September 2024) moved to allay these concerns.
“Corsair will honour all existing Fanatec warranties,” stated Paul in the email.
“Customers should still reach out to the Fanatec team directly for support via their Fanatec accounts. Our priority is to ensure prompt resolution of warranty issues during this transition of ownership and of course provide continuous improvement of customer support,” he continued.
Fanatec’s decline came about due to a number of factors, with poor service and delayed orders ranking high among its customer base’s bugbears.
“We know that some of the community are not happy about the current state of Customer Service,” said Paul in response.
“I get this – I hear you; we are committed to improving this… We run a global support and logistics operation, and we will be integrating Fanatec into this, giving you better service and more transparency,” he concluded, which is sure to be music to the ears of Fanatec customers worldwide.
What will happen to Fanatec in the future?
The email also included a nod to Fanatec’s future: “Corsair’s expertise and resources will enhance the Fanatec product lineup and make significant improvements to the logistics and customer service. Global availability of Fanatec products will also expand through CORSAIR’s extensive channels,” said Paul, referencing CORSAIR’s vast global support network and resources.
“Fanatec will operate in a similar way to SCUF and Elgato within the Corsair family – it will continue to develop and launch products its world-class product range from the current headquarters in Landshut, Germany,” he added intriguingly, hinting that new Fanatec products will be on the way in future, no doubt also enthusing Fanatec’s beleaguered workforce.
“Corsair plans to make significant investments in the Fanatec brand, its products, and increasing worldwide availability through our channels,” stated Andres Ruff, outgoing CEO of Endor AG in a further statement.
“All current and future Fanatec customers will benefit from the world-class support from CORSAIR, including warranty and software updates going forward,” he concluded.
