As part of the big Brembo partnership announcement for Gran Turismo 7, which also revealed new car setup and tuning options for the game, two new cars were also briefly showcased.

As has been the trend now for several Gran Turismo games pre-launch, little titbits are slowly revealed during several trailers, leading to rabid speculation by fans.

In the Brembo trailer, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 was relatively easy to spot and there’s also a clearer view of the Ford GT race car that won the GTE class of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2016. The Audi though, that is a tricky one…

At 1:14 in the Brembo GT7 trailer, there’s a gaggle of cars all racing towards the Ascari chicane at Monza. Right in the middle is a Ford Mustang Shelby GT350.

This is a brand-new car for the Gran Turismo franchise. In GT Sport there is the V8 Mustang GT Premium Fastback from 2015, alongside Gr.4, Gr.3 and Gr.B variants, but the quicker Shelby model was missing.

The GT350 is an animal by nature and not just name, thanks to a screaming 5.2-litre V8 engine with a flat-plane crankshaft known as the Voodoo. The redline is at 8,250rpm and it’s controlled via a manual gearbox. Strap in.

Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo

The current Gran Turismo game, GT Sport, already has a GT3-spec Audi R8 – the Gr.3 R8 LMS Audi Sport Team WRT from 2105.

However, teased multiple times through the recent Brembo trailer, is the more recent and upgraded Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo.

How can we tell? Well, it’s all rather nerdy, but the evo has upgraded aerodynamics, specifically a different dive plane set up at the front.

We also considered that this was the GT2 R8, but that doesn’t feature a NACA duct on the bonnet like the GT3-spec machine.

There we go, a new car for Gr.3 and an aerodynamic comparison of Audis. We cover it all at Traxion.GG…

A closer look at the Ford GT LM GTE Pro

This race car version of the current Ford GT was briefly shown previously in the GT7 pre-release hype, but now we have a clear view. So, not new information, but a fresh look at a Gr.3 car we’ve been fining for.

With Joey Hand, Sébastien Bourdais and Dirk Müller behind the wheel, the car won the LM GTE Pro category of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. In-game, however, this is the 2018 specification race car, thanks to a darker shade of red in the livery design.
