After extensive hints and information drops over the past few weeks, SCS Software has finally set a date for the release of its smart-looking Montana DLC for American Truck Simulator.

The much-anticipated update, replicating some of the most scenic and diverse landscapes in the USA, is set to be released for PC on the 4th of August on Steam.

Before that announcement, however, the Czech developer released a 30-minute preview video showing a serene drive through the new DLC’s stunningly accurate landscape, with many locals commenting on landmarks they recognised from the real route.

In addition to new locations, the update is set to add new cargo types too. These include silane gas (Montana is the biggest producer of silane gas in the world) and bin lorries, with players able to travel through the biggest cities in Montana: including Butte, Missoula and state capital Helena.

Montana’s timber and mining industries will play a big role too, as the area is abundant in natural resources thanks to its location between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. Tourism also naturally plays a huge part in the economy of Montana, so players can also expect to see plenty of scenic rest stops and weighbridge locations.
