Remember the trouble I got myself into in the very first episode of Let’s Play TOCA Race Driver 3? In Tier 2, I chose the MG Team Rally Shield and kept torturing myself in the absolutely bizarre MG ZR Super 1600 until I finally passed. Then in episode 7, Tier 12 had the Historic Group B Rally challenge with the Audi Quattro. What a trip that was.
I somewhat swore off rally challenges after that, every time coming across one I’d often opt for the other challenges. Last episode, I tried the Ultima Can-Am Tour in Tier 26 with little success. Those things were fast, furious, fun, but they were not a great race experience. I know I can thrive with DTM again, but you know what, lets try rally again.
If I stick it out, the Mitsubishi Motors Rally Trophy challenge will take me through three rally stages this time. Utilising the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Group A, I’ll see if the other two attempts were botched because of poor handling vehicles or if rally is just broken in TOCA Race Driver 3.
Once I get through that, Tier 27 has GT Tuning Cup, Dodge Super Speedway Tour, or Formula 3 to choose from. Tune in to see which one of those I take on.
