Nacon’s first-ever sim racing peripherals have debuted at Gamescom. The Revosim Pure direct drive wheel base produces 9Nm of torque, placing it in direct competition with many more established hardware brands.
There is also a matching steering wheel, load cell pedals and a companion smartphone app.
Nacon, renowned for its versatility, has found itself branching into all corners of the video game industry over the years, developing peripherals from headsets to controllers, flight sticks and gaming chairs.
It is also the custodian of the KT Racing development, responsible for racing games such as Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown, Endurance Motorsport Series, and formerly, the official WRC games.
In 2024 however, an all-new racing department has been established within the company, and the Revosim range represents its opening effort.
Accompanying the base and its steel and aluminium load-cell pedals is a GT-Style steering wheel – 300mm diameter and wrapped in an imitation leather grip with 12 buttons, paddles shifters and an aluminium quick release.
The pedals feature a 100kg load cell brake setup, three different elastomers for adjustable firmness, and a changeable pedal angle. For now, there is a two pedal set, but it has been designed to fit a third pedal at a later date.
A desk mount for the RS Pure Wheel Base is included, fitting tables up to 7cm in thickness. For now, the equipment is for PCs only – consoles are believed to be in consideration for Revosim.
The complimentary mobile app is set to receive game telemetry, with your phone placed upon a holder and acting as a digital display unit – with revs, speed, tyre temperature and other useful information displayed in real-time.
This pitches the new hardware directly against the likes of Moza with its mid-range direct drive base, the R9, and similar wheels, the RS and CS, although pricing for the Revosim Pure range is yet to be confirmed.
Availability is yet to be confirmed, but the whole set as a bundle is expected to be released before the end of 2024. Traxion understands that the Pure range of devices is the first of many for the Revosim brand.
