Master the alternative Tricky Triangle in this week’s GT Sport Daily Races

Pocono Raceway is a unique oval racing venue located in Pennsylvania. NASCAR raced there last month, and IndyCar has raced there in the past.

It’s known as the ‘The Tricky Triangle’ because, from above, it looks like a polygon with three edges and certainly isn’t a traditional oval shape.

Sadly, this famed track that opened in 1971 and is known for its Long John – a 1,500 foot-long strip of toilets – is not in GT Sport. But the fictional Blue Moon Bay Speedway is, and it too has three distinct corners, some banking and is tricky…

This may not be quite the same, but use your imagination a little bit, and this is as close as you can get in the land of Gran Turismo to a superspeedway.

GT Sport Daily Race for the week commencing 12th July 2021

Race A is at the aforementioned Blue Moon Bay, and keeping in the American-racing theme, it’s a one-make event. That means everyone will be in the same Chevrolet Camaro SS from 2016. Small blocks for the win.

As GT Sport has been available for over three and a half years now, fresh setups for the weekly Daily Races are hard to come by, but this one manages to pique our interest.

Race B is a classic affair – any Gr.4 car of your choice and the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. Fun fact, if you translate the name of the first chicane, variante del rettifilo, into English, it’s simply ‘variant of the straight’.

Everything always sounds better in Italian.

Chevrolet C7 Corvette GR.4 Monza

Race C is one of our favourite combinations – Gr.2 Super GT cars and the Red Bull Ring. GT Sport’s recreation of the Austrian circuit is one of the very best in all of gaming and simulation. The accuracy of the asphalt and the beauty of the scenery will knock you away, especially in 4K.

The Gr.2 cars too are eye-opening, with their vast swathes of downforce allowing you to carry more speed through Turn 4 than you may expect. As is always the case with Race C, expect strategy to come into place.

Gr.2 Nissan GTR Red Bull Ring

Full details of each race are below, and the playlist will next reset on Monday 19th July 2021. Don’t forget that the second 2021 season calendar for GT Sport FIA events has been released and try the Toyota GR 86 that has just been added to the game.
