Two Japanese giants duke it out in this week’s GT Sport Daily Races

It is a Monday, thus it’s time for new Daily Races within GT Sport. Happy days!

This week sees three events within the popular racing game that enable you to race against equally matched rivals online. Hopefully, some clean and fun racing, but for those unlucky enough to be lower down the ranks, lots of penalty-system raging.

In each of the latest events you can select a Mitsubishi or Subaru. Both Japanese companies with headquarters in Tokyo, both with sadly abandoned world rally history and both purveyors of turbocharged saloon cars.

Starting today, 15th February and ending 21st February 2021, here’s what’s on the menu.

GT Sport Daily Races 15th February 2021

Race A kicks things off with a battle between the Mitsubishi Evolution IV GSR from 1996 and the Subaru Impreza Couple WRX Type R STi Version VI from 1999. Both rally cars for the road and in the N300 class, the battle takes place appropriately enough on the dirt course of Colorado Springs -Lake across four laps and from a grid start.

Dirt tyres are essential equipment and so will be a good state of mental wellbeing, as 12 competitors bashing around the tight area of this stage will surely drive anyone looking for a clean race bonus mad.

Fun fact, the full name for the Subaru is: Subaru Impreza Coupe World Rally eXperimental Type Record Subaru Tecnica International Version VI. Catchy.

Race B is a straightforward race in comparison. Any Gr.4 car from your garage for four laps around Fuji International Speedway. The variant with the tricky little hairpin. There’s no tyre wear of fuel consumption, tyres are of the grippy persuasion – Racing Mediums. 16 cars will take the grid for a rolling start, barrelling down to the tight first corner before an inevitable crash.

Mitsubishi Gr.4 Lancer Evolution X

Last but not least is Race C, which always isn’t ‘least’ because in GT Sport parlance this is the longest and toughest Daily Race. Any Gr.3 car from your garage can be used, which means you can be in a Subaru or Mitsubishi if you’d like to continue our theme. 10 laps of Monza will see slipstreaming battles right to the flag, but strategy could have a part to play in success too. You have a choice of Racing Hard or Racing Medium tyres with fuel consumption set to 2x and tyre wear 10x. The grid is a full 20 cars.
