What if you merged car racing with golf – pondered no one, ever. Except, they did, and the result is Turbo Golf Racing.
Created by Hugecalf Studios and published by Secret Mode, the aim is to putt balls into holes, but with vehicles instead of clubs and with up to eight players online and cross-platform between PC and Xbox.
In a move that is reminiscent of Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, the vehicles are exaggerated in styling, look to have some form of boost functionality and can jump. Things seem to be taken to another level, however, as the vehicles have wings.
Cosmetic customisation options are promised alongside special unlockable capabilities, such as Roll and Ground Stomp. How they play and remain balanced will be seen later this year, when Turbo Golf Racing launches.
“Hugecalf Studios has crafted a raucous multiplayer experience like no other, and Turbo Golf Racing instantly became a daily staple of our free-time gaming sessions,” explained Paige Dolan, Greenlight Manager at Secret Mode.
Ahead of the full release, there will be a Beta in Spring, with sign-ups available now. If the game fosters a dedicated community, and there is promise based upon this early look and the regular free updates scheduled, it could become the next big multiplayer driving-ish game.
We’ll know more later in the year when it becomes available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Games Pass.
