Following the recent Version 1.08 update for Gran Turismo 7, the quickest way to earn credits has now been altered dramatically.
Back in the nascent days of the PlayStation-exclusive racer – which is excellent, by the way – you could fire up the Fishermans Ranch / Dirt Champions events in a Gr.B car, win the one-lap race and earn a minimum of 65,000 credits, or rising to 97,500 credits with a Clean Race Bonus.
This has now been more than halved, with several other events receiving payout tweaks based upon “driving time and difficulty.”
With the Used Car and Legend Car pavilions rotating new stock on a daily basis, some of which can be pricey and tied to one of the Trophies, stockpiling credits is essentially for those trying to fo for the Platinum.
Mind you, there is a lot to be said for simply playing through the game in a natural way, not grinding, and enjoying it. Honestly, you will enjoy it, and all this will now evolve once new events are added to the game.
For now though, here are the quickest way of earning credits within Gran Turismo 7 if grinding is your thing.
Please bear in mind that this is an evolving document that we will update with the latest techniques and events as Gran Turismo 7 progresses. Our time estimates are based upon the PS5 version of the game, with its superlative loading times.
What is a Clean Race Bonus?
A Clean Race Bonus in Gran Turismo 7 is a 50 per cent additional boost in race-winning credits achieved by not driving off the track or hitting opponents and barriers during race events.
1. Sardegna Windmills / Dirt Champions
Yes, rallying events still reign supreme if credits are your sole goal. This event was previously up there as a ‘quick cash’ generation, but now it’s been rated as one difficulty chilli lower, so in theory, is an easier win.
All you need is any Gr.B car and some Dirt Tyres. A Gr.B car will first unlock for Café Book No.37, or if you achieve all Bronze or above in the International A Licence tests.
In order to access this event, you will need to unlock the venue, achieved by completing Café Book No. 36.
Earnings potential
- Estimated completion time: 3 minutes 30 seconds to 4 minutes 30 seconds
- Winnings = 40,000 (exc. bonus)
- Clean Race Winnings = 60,000
- Estimated credits per minute: 15,000
Race details
- No. of laps: Three
- Number of rivals: One
- Car Category: Gr.B
- Tyre Choice: Dirt
- PP Limit: N/A
2. Colorado Springs / Dirt Champions
Yet another dirt event and ideally in a Gr.B car with Dirt Tyres equipped. But, if you would like to mix things up a little, and we recommend you do, then this event is nearly as quick for pumping up credit stocks as the aforementioned Sardegna Windmills event.
It has a two-chilli difficulty rating, so in theory, it’s more challenging to win, but there’s also no PP limit so tune away.
In order to access this event, you will need to unlock the venue, achieved by completing Café Book No. 25.
Earnings potential
- Estimated completion time: 4 to 5 minutes
- Winnings = 40,000 (exc. bonus)
- Clean Race Winnings = 60,000
- Estimated credits per minute: 13,300
Race details
- No. of laps: Three
- Number of rivals: One
- Car Category: Gr.B
- Tyre Choice: Dirt
- PP Limit: N/A
3. Fisherman’s Ranch / Dirt Champions
Another dirt event, and this time the past-master. Muted, certainly, but still effective as a quick way of earning some scarce money.
While the payout is more than half it used to be, keep plugging away at this event as it remains one of the most effective ways of earning credits, especially if you have a Gr.B car already and the venue unlocked.
In order to access this event, you will need to unlock the venue, achieved by completing Café Book No. 36.
Earnings potential
- Estimated completion time: 3 to 4 minutes
- Winnings = 30,000 (exc. bonus)
- Clean Race Winnings = 45,000
- Estimated credits per minute: 12,850
Race details
- No. of laps: One
- Number of rivals: One
- Car Category: Gr.B
- Tyre Choice: Dirt
- PP Limit: N/A
4. Fisherman’s Ranch / World Rally Challenge
In fourth place, as things stand, is not only another gravel-based race but another around Fisherman’s Ranch – the tricky, twisty and bumpy fictional venue.
This features a max PP level of 700, so can upgrade a Gr.B rally car to help make things easier for you, but bear in mind that there are more than two other rival cars on track making it harder to achieve that Clean Race Bonus.
You can even try this in any road car that’s tuned up and with dirt tyres fitted, should you fancy an even greater challenge.
In order to access this event, you will need to unlock the venue, achieved by completing Café Book No. 36.
Earnings potential
- Estimated completion time: 6 to 8 minutes
- Winnings = 50,000 (exc. bonus)
- Clean Race Winnings = 75,000
- Estimated credits per minute: 10,700
Race details
- No. of laps: Two
- Number of rivals: 11
- Car Category: Any below the PP limit and with Dirt Tyres
- Tyre Choice: Dirt
- PP Limit: N/A
5. Daytona / American Sunday Cup 600
A road course event, not on dirt tyres! Who would have thought it?
This race is dull but equally easy to win with any American supercar or upgraded sportscar/classic. The event takes roughly just over two minutes in a standard supercar such as a Ford GT ’06, readily available for 460,000 credits in the Brand Central.
What makes this especially easier is the lineup of slow computer-controller rivals and no need to even brake once.
In order to access this event, you will need to unlock the venue, achieved by completing Café Book No. 14.
Earnings potential
- Estimated completion time: 2 minutes and 15 seconds
- Winnings = 15,000
- Clean Race Winnings = 22,500
- Estimated credits per minute: 10,000
Race details
- No. of laps: Three
- Number of rivals: 9
- Car Category: Road Car from the United States
- Tyre Choice: Any
- PP Limit: N/A, 600 PP suggested
Other quick wins
The Kyoto Driving Park / 4WD Japanese Challenge 500 event can return an estimated 8,800 credits per minute, while the Brands Hatch / GT Cup Gr. 4 a little lower at 8,400 estimated credits per minute – if you don’t fancy repeating any of the events above.
Trial Mountain Cup
Above, we’ve listed the five quickest single-races we could find, plus two others to break up the monotony. But, there are also championships, in the form of ‘Cups’.
If you visit the ‘World Circuits’ pavilion, at the bottom is a list of ‘Championships. These are events that include more than one race, unlocked by completing the Café Menu Books.
The Trial Mountain Cup consists of two races at the fictional venue, one forward, once reverse, each just two laps. You’ll need a road car from America, just like the American Sunday Cup. Similarly, the Ford GT ’06 is a solid pick.
This could be settled to run even quicker than we’ve managed here, but the Sardegna Windmills will still win out.
It’s Café Menu Book No.17, but can be re-played as many times as you’d like once unlocked. Ultimately, we found this to be around the same speed as number five on our list, but not quicker than the dirt events.
Earnings potential
- Estimated completion time: 10 minutes and 25 seconds
- Race winnings = 20,000 (x2)
- Clean Race Winnings = 30,000 (X2)
- Championship winning bonus = 40,000
- Total potential credits = 100,000
- Estimated credits per minute: 10,000
Race details
- No. of races: Two
- No. of laps: Two, x2
- Number of rivals: 11
- Car Category: Road Car from the United States
- Tyre Choice: Any
- PP Limit: N/A, 600 PP suggested
Remember the main game modes
We also strongly suggest that you naturally play through all the Café Menu Books, Licence Tests, Missions, World Circuits races and Circuit Experience challenges before you start chipping away at more credits. Plus, don’t forget the superlative Sport Mode.
Most of all, have fun.
