Moza reveals improved CRP2 load cell pedals

As Gamescom 2024 kicks off in Cologne, Chinese sim racing peripheral manufacturer Moza has revealed a successor to its well-received CRP pedals.

Like the CRP, the CRP2 will feature three pedals; a gas, brake and clutch, mated to an aviation-grade aluminium chassis, this time with a snazzy-looking carbon fibre heel plate. Gone are the metal pedal plates from before, however, with an apparently grippier, rubbery material in their stead.

The most important aspect of the pedal set, the brake pedal, once again features a 200kg load sensor, while 15-bit precision angle sensors should help interpret players’ smallest inputs with greater accuracy than before. Stepped damping block structures also apparently help give the CRP2s 125 different types of brake feel.

In our review of Moza’s original CRP pedals our main criticism was how the brake felt, with a two-stage spring and elastomer system light on feedback while threshold braking. Moza will hopefully have worked on these criticisms for the CRP2s, which we are set to review soon.

The company has also unveiled a steering wheel that replicates Porsche’s Mission R concept and a prototype of what appear to be force feedback-equipped mBooster pedals.

The pedals are available now from Moza’s website, priced from £399.00 for a two-pedal set. An additional clutch pedal is an extra £99 excluding shipping and taxes.
