Fanatec’s ClubSport Formula Cockpit has been a long time coming. Officially licensed by Formula 1, a prototype was showcased at the 24 Hours of Spa 2022, which we tested.
Since then, it has been used in the F1 Sim Racing esports championship, along with Formula 1 FanZone and Paddock Club zones. Now, Fanatec has announced the Formula 1-style cockpit is being adapted for a home version set to go on sale in 2027 after frequent customer requests.
Like the original, the public production version will feature a low-slung driving position, but with more adjustability. It incorporates the same mounting plates and front mount bracket as Fanatec’s ClubSport GT Cockpit, but will also support third-party sim racing hardware.

“The [original] design was just too complex to put it into a nice flatpack box and ship it to people,” Fanatec’s Vice President and General Manager Tobias Stelzer said during a presentation at SimRacing Expo Frankfurt.
As a result, Fanatec has adjusted the seat sliders and mounting designs for pedals and monitors, resulting in smaller packaging. Its redesigned wheelbase mounting area also benefits from better longitudinal and angle adjustments, eliminating the need for a shaft extension.
While the press shots preview the public version’s sleeker design, the cockpit on display at the SimRacing Expo Frankfurt is the original prototype used in events, now sporting a Red Bull Racing livery.
“We’re now in a position to bring it to private customers,” Stelzer confirmed.
