Our favourite top-down, cute, racing simulator, Circuit Superstars, will add oval racing, stock cars and a draft mechanic in its next update.
This is a pleasant surprise, as the specific new cars and track type were absent from the recent developer, Original Fire Games, update. A v.1.1.0 update launched in November and featured reverse track layouts and a Screen Space Steering option, while a roadmap preview highlighting the slipstreaming physics and the promise of “new car, new track, new category.”
We said in our review: “Trying over, and over, and over, to find the very best lap time. Fighting in unique vehicles, around varied tracks, for the podium positions. The thrill of success after several failures. Not for the trepidatious, this is a unique experience that showcases the very essence of motor racing – the competition.”
The game is continuing to evolve, now it is fully released on PC via Steam and Xbox One, with PlayStation 4 currently slated for Q1 2022.
Our oval-racing expert Justin Melillo is looking forward to this next addition and we’ll provide our impressions and further details as soon as they are available.
