5yrs agoWATCH: Wreckfest on PS5 first impressions
Wreckfest on PS5 isn’t simply the PS4 game or even a mild update to the existing game. It’s a thorough remaster and the definitive version of the game. A bold statement, but one that is easy to back up. You’ve got all the vehicles, tracks and gameplay you know and love but with expanded online…Continue reading “WATCH: Wreckfest on PS5 first impressions”»

5yrs agoWreckfest has a new lease of life on PS5
Here I am getting excited about yet another version of a game that has its roots embedded in late 2013, almost eight years ago, which is more than a little bit baffling. That’s when a failed Kickstarter campaign pushed developer Bugbear Entertainment into offering a ‘Sneak Peek’ demo for the then-titled ‘Next Car Game’ to…Continue reading “Wreckfest has a new lease of life on PS5”»

5yrs agoWreckfest launching on PS5 4th May, free via PlayStation Plus
In a somewhat surprising turn of events, the upgraded version of Wreckfest is coming to PS5 on the 4th May 2021 and will be free to those with PlayStation Plus. We originally reported that a natively remastered version of our favourite folk/banger racing game will be releasing on the 1st June, but today the PlayStation…Continue reading “Wreckfest launching on PS5 4th May, free via PlayStation Plus”»

5yrs agoWATCH: A very serious Wreckfest Eagles Peak Motorpark track guide
We take our track guides very seriously here at Traxion. Fresh off the back of Assetto Corsa Competizione circuit assistance manuals, I’m now going to create one for the most realistic simulation of them all: Wreckfest. The Eagles Peak Motorpark venue was added to Wreckfest as part of the December 2020 Racing Heroes Tournament update…Continue reading “WATCH: A very serious Wreckfest Eagles Peak Motorpark track guide”»

5yrs agoWreckfest gets a PS5 native version with a suite of updates
A few weeks ago, we reported on the March Tournament update for Wreckfest. After the release of this patch, the Xbox Series X could then play the game at 60 frames per second – which was warmly received. However, we posed the question about a similar upgrade for PlayStation 5 users. Now, our questions have…Continue reading “Wreckfest gets a PS5 native version with a suite of updates”»

5yrs agoWATCH: THIS is why Wreckfest is so addictive!
Maybe it’s the way vehicles deform. Like an empty bag of crisps, your car (or sofa) can be a crumpled heap in seconds. There’s something so satisfying about that in a virtual world where no injuries – other than to pride – can occur. Then again, it’s probably the track design. A mixture of Scandinavian-themed…Continue reading “WATCH: THIS is why Wreckfest is so addictive!”»

5yrs agoWhy is Wreckfest so addictive?
It’s 2013 and Bugbear Games has failed in their fundraising efforts to deliver “Next Car Game”. With only $81,000 raised it is hard to imagine that the game would reach the end of production, let alone become a fan favourite with one of the biggest and most consistent fanbases in the racing game genre. Fast-forward…Continue reading “Why is Wreckfest so addictive?”»
