It’s a big day for The Crew Motorfest, with Season 11 bringing new cars, an off-road expedition-themed playlist and a free island to explore. The latest season coincides with a paid Tomb Raider-themed expansion also out today.

Beyond that, Ubisoft’s open-world racer is set to launch on Switch 2 tomorrow, marking the series’ debut on a Nintendo platform.

Ubisoft announced the surprise Switch 2 port in July, but few details were revealed and little footage was shown. Now, an official FAQ has revealed new details about the Switch 2 version, including its resolution and performance.

The Crew Motorfest now on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

According to the FAQ, The Crew Motorfest will run at 1080p and 30fps in both handheld and docked mode, with no mention of performance and graphics modes. Given the map’s gigantic size, it will be an impressive feat if it can maintain smooth performance on Nintendo’s handheld, but visual compromises are likely.

Cross-progression and cross-save are also supported, meaning you can continue progression if you already own the game on another platform. However, any paid content owned on another platform won’t transfer, so it will need to be repurchased on Switch 2.

Cross-play multiplayer, meanwhile, is limited to Grand Race and Demolition Royale, along with Summit and event leaderboards. User-created tracks created in TrackForge are also available on all platforms.

Mercifully, the Switch 2 version will receive updates at the same time as other platforms, including future seasons.

DLC packs including the Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 Passes will be available at launch too, alongside the Chase Squad, RC Frenzy and Tomb Raider: Secrets of Ni’ihau.

However, the Year 4 Pass and all car packs won’t be available in time for the Switch 2 launch. Ubisoft has not yet confirmed when or if they will be added, saying that their “potential availability will be announced later.”

With its open-world, hundreds of licensed cars and regular updates, The Crew Motorfest could become one of the best Switch 2 racing games when it launches tomorrow, 8th October.
