WATCH - iRacing's Sandown rendition in action

A video promoting the upcoming Supercars Eseries competition has showcased the upcoming Sandown International Raceway within iRacing for the first time.

Up until this point, there has been a smattering of still images, but the video (above) shows the Mustang and ZB Commodore Supercars thundering around the horse racing venue with up to date kerbing and signage.

The 1.929-mile venue is located within the Melbourne suburbs and features a long back straight into a high-speed left-hander. Get it wrong here and the consequences can be catastrophic.

The venue also requires a set-up that is pliant, with riding large kerbs in the first and final sectors the key to consistent performance.

The venue could potentially be dropped from this season’s real-world Supercars calendar. Regardless, it will however be available for iRacing as part of the 2022 Season 3 content drop and allow for AI races.

It follows Winton Motor Raceway earlier this year as part of an Australian track onslaught for the platform. Both tracks feature on the Supercars Eseries calendar, which starts on 20th July.
