SnowRunner heading to Steam on 18th May

Hey, SnowRunner fans, great news dropped on Thursday for those of you playing on PC.

That’s right! One of the most renowned terrain simulators, which Tom recently reported is coming to Nintendo Switch, will be available on Steam starting the 18th May. The Steam release will also have the DLC available to purchase, including everything available in Season 3.

The off-roading platform is technically already out on PC – as well as on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 – but it’s only specifically been out on the Epic Games store for PC users. Now that it’s coming to Steam, you’ll be able to enjoy it with the added convenience benefits that Steam provides.

SnowRunner was developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Home Interactive. Saber Interactive has ties to the Halo franchise, while Focus Home Interactive has been a part of the publishing team for all of the Trackmania titles released since the initial game back in 2003.

SnowRunner on Steam

Talking about Halo and Trackmania just brought me back to my high school years.

Now I feel old.

Anyway, SnowRunner itself is the descendant of the Spintires and MudRunner games that were previously released in 2014 and 2017, respectively. Players can take different vehicles on all sorts of terrain and aim to accomplish a myriad of tasks. It’s off-roading on hard mode, always.

This is another one of those simulators I look at and think “wow, that’s actually really cool, I kind of want to try it out,” especially if it has ties to some of the gaming franchises I grew up with.

Just like Gas Station Simulator, I’ve now got this wish-listed for future playing, so I’ll let you all know how it turns out when it officially drops on Steam in less than three weeks. If you’ve played SnowRunner before, let us know what you think about it in the comments!
