The identity of the cars included in Le Mans Ultimate’s Pack 4 DLC has been revealed today (20th February 2025).

The Porsche 911 GT3 R and Aston Martin Vantage AMR LMGT3s will arrive on the 25th of February, priced at £5.99 / €6.99 / $7.49 for the pair. The DLC will complement the free Ford Mustang LMGT3 due to be unveiled at the same time.

As well as two cars, the DLC will also be accompanied by a game update that includes improvements to the LMGT3 class’s tyre model and the game’s heads-up display.

For those who own LMU’s Season Pass (available for £39.99 / €45.99 / $48.99), the Pack 4 DLC is included at no additional cost, with a final DLC, Pack 5, set for release in May. Pack 5 is set to include the Lusail International Circuit as well as the Lexus RC F and Lamborghini Huracán Evo 2 LMGT3 cars, thereby completing the in-game 2024 World Endurance Championship grid.

Porsche 911 GT3 R LMGT3

LMU’s LMGT3 class doesn’t feel complete without Porsche’s 911 GT3 R. The Stuttgart marque’s challenger is a ubiquitous presence in WEC and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and is the great race’s most successful manufacturer.

Despite its unusual rear-engine layout, Weissach’s finest engineers have developed a succession of race-winning 911s over the decades, proving the car’s strong mechanical DNA.

In 2024, the #91 Manthey Racing Porsche of Yasser Shahin/Morris Schuring/Richard Lietz won two races in WEC, but they were perhaps the two most important; the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and Le Mans. Take note, LMU community…

Aston Martin Vantage AMR LMGT3

Aston Martin is another car maker with a storied history at Le Mans, with the Vantage AMR LMGT3 its newest endurance racer… until the awesome Valkyrie Hypercar hits the track later this year, that is.

With a raucous twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine the Vantage sounds the part, but the British firm will be disappointed with its 2024 results, as the #27 Heart of Racing Team entry finished fifth in the Drivers’ standings despite claiming victory at the Circuit of the Americas.

Aston Martin moved away from long-term partner Prodrive to develop the car itself, with its AMR (Aston Martin Racing) and AMPT (Aston Martin Performance Technologies) departments combining to steer the car’s development.

Updated LMGT3 tyre model

The developers at Studio 397 and Motorsport Games have responded to community feedback since LMGT3s’ inception by tweaking the category’s tyre physics.

Car balance has apparently been shifted slightly rearward to help promote stability, with tyres given more performance beyond the limits of adhesion. This should provide more grip but at the expense of heightened wear, which should also help prevent high-speed understeer across all LMGT3s.

Thermal degradation has also been looked at; so spinning up the tyres too often during a stint will noticeably affect tyre longevity. The remaining classes in LMU – LMP2, GTE and Hypercar – can expect to receive similar tyre model refinements in future updates.

HUD updates

LMU’s HUD will also see a host of improvements in the new update, with the standings now set to incorporate tyre compound and virtual energy data. Drivers will also be able to see if their opponents have any outstanding penalties.

The MFD will also show which cars are a lap ahead and a lap behind you, making it easier to distinguish who your competition is while negotiating traffic.

Alongside improved single-player AI, LMU will also be given a damage indicator, where car parts will be coloured based on the severity of damage (normal equals white, minor damage equals yellow and major damage equals red). When a part becomes detached it will flash red on the HUD.

Players’ previous lap times will display in the top right of the screen to better gauge race pace too, with the delta timer given a ‘reset’ key bind to compare to the last completed lap. Helpfully, the estimated number of laps left in a session can also be displayed, assisting players in calculating the amount of fuel required to finish the race.

Extra track layouts

Extra track layouts for LMU’s existing circuits will also arrive in the update.

“We believe the improvements, new cars and additional circuit layouts for this release will delight fans,” stated Motorsport Games’ CEO Stephen Hood.

Additional configurations for Fuji Speedway, Monza, Sebring, the Circuit of the Americas, Bahrain and the Circuit de la Sarthe are in the works, with all the details covered in our accompanying article here.
