- PC Demo now available for Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown
- Online demo will be available from 6th-17th June 2024

- 16 cars be purchased, a further 11 can be tested
- Nine of 14 districts unlocked
Those with a gaming PC can now sample Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown – and we don’t mean via a closed beta or private playtest, but a public demo.
With Solar Crown being an always-online live-service game, you could think of this demo as an open beta of sorts.
Certainly, developer KT Racing is framing it as such:
“This demo marks a further stage in the development team’s large-scale technical testing process,” reads its statement.
“The aim is to test the stability of the game servers, gather key information and gather player feedback, with a view to the game’s launch.”
The traffic system is far from final, and the automatic graphics settings are low but can be tweaked upwards.
This is a work-in-progress build, with the final game some three months away, and is also limited in features.
The entirety of Hong Kong Island is said to have been recreated – although only nine of 14 districts will be accessible in the demo. Similarly, not all cars will be included, with 16 available to purchase while a further can be 11 test driven.
Vehicles such as the Audi Q7 V12 TDI, incongruous Citroën 2CV and Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG can be gorged on, with the hypercar-class Porsche 918 and Koenigsegg Agera RS acting as after-dinner mints.
For those with a PC, it’s probably time to stop reading and start downloading. This will only be available from today (6th June) until the 17th. Then it’s waiting until the 12th September launch, where PlayStation and Xbox owners can also jump in.
