After an initial reveal over three years ago and a phone release in 2022, CarX Street will finally hit PC this month.
Created by the team behind the popular 2017 sideways simulator CarX Drift Racing Online – which is on PC and console – players will explore the fictional Sunset City in a range of recognisable, but not licenced, vehicles.
Each will feature the ability to heavily modify its look, with large winks, skirts and splitters expected. Different wheel and interior styles will also be possible, alongside performance-enhancing tweaks.
The venue mixes urban streets with twisting mount roads – perfect for a spot of drifting, harking back to the studio’s prior games.
Speaking of which, there will be at least two powersliding-related game modes – one where you earn points in parking lots, and a second in a race scenario.
More regular race formats, online leaderboards and deliver missions are also set to be part of the mix. Multiplayer will also feature, with races, 1v1 battles and a chase mode (try to create a gap of over 300 metres from a pursuer) possible.
It was initially expected in an early access form, however, CarX Street will have a full release on PC, via Steam, on 29th August 2024. Pricing is yet to be confirmed. PlayStation and Xbox versions are expected later.
