23rd July 2024 was supposed to be ExoCross’ release day – and it was for those with a PC, PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5.

However, the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S launch was delayed due to complications following CrowdStrike’s clumsy security software update.

“With the current PC issues plaguing the planet, we have been informed our ExoCross game

Xbox submission is stalled,” explained iRacing’s Executive Vice President, Steve Myers, at the time.

“It’s likely that version of the game will be delayed a few days.”

ExoCross is a finished, polished, version of a former early access title called DRAG Outer Zones – created by Orontes Games using a bespoke game engine. iRacing purchased the studio, game and technology at the end of 2021.
