Nine new racing and driving games to look forward to in February

February 2026 is a busy one, with all-new, re-booted and re-released racing and driving games flooding the market. Here’s what to expect.

Eight new racing and driving games to look forward to in February

Super Woden Rally Edge and GRID Legends on Switch 2 combined for a superlative – 9/10 and 8/10 respectively – way to kick start racing games in 2026.

But that was January, and now it’s February. And that means, even more new games.

Will they hit the heady heights of the aforementioned solo-developed rally game? We’ll find out, so stay tuned to the Traxion website and YouTube channel for our in-depth reviews. But for now, here’s what to expect this month.

4PGP

4PGP Nintendo Switch 2 01

Release date: 5th February 2026
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S

Four Player Grand Prix – or 4PGP for the abbreviated and official name – aims to rewind the clock 30 years, when Sega ruled the arcade roost.

Except, it’s not the early 1990s, but 2026, and so while it has retro elements, there is four-player split screen and a championship mode. Using the recognisable, but not licensed, open-world cars and fictional (but not really) circuits, the Switch 2 version can hit 120 frames per second at 4K resolution.

It’s also publisher 3goo’s first attempt at developing a game in-house. We’ll have our review very soon.

Top Speed

Top Speed Full Throttle Arcade Archives 2026

Release date: 5th February 2026
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S

Part of Hamster Corporation’s unceasing mission to convert arcade cabinet games of yesteryear to consoles, Top Speed was also known in some markets as Full Throttle.

Originally released by Taito in 1987, you drive what looks like an FC-generation Mazda RX-7 down public roads against the clock with a checkpoint format. Uniquely for the time, there was a nitro button for additional speed.

Other than the Sharp X68000 home computer, this is the first time it’s ever been officially playable at home.

Carmageddon: Rogue Shift

Carmageddon Rogue Shift car damage

Release date: 6th February 2026
Platforms: Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S

After a lengthy hiatus, the franchise returns with destructible cars, ‘zombies’ to run over and weapons. This time, development has been handed to 34BigThings, the team behind the revered Redout games.

On paper, Carmageddon: Rogue Shift is promising, and also comes at the genre with a different perspective – it should be lauded for attempting a roguelite format within driving games.

However, in the opinion of the Traxion team, unsatisfying vehicle handling, limited damage and, by its very nature, repetitive gameplay loops leave a lot to be desired.

JDM: Japanese Drift Master, PS5

JDM Japanese Drift Master adds five new cars including Toyota Supra A80 lookalike

Release date: 6th February 2026
Platforms: PlayStation 5 (already on PC and Xbox Series X|S)

Debuting on PC last year to a somewhat complicated response, JDM: Japanese Drift Master mixed detailed, customisable cars, with a luscious open-world environment, filled with kei cars and vending machines.

It was also easy to play with a gamepad, sideways slewing as you progressed through a narrative-driven campaign. It also had immovable objects, erratic AI-controlled opponents and NPC traffic that couldn’t handle freeways.

Since then, there has been work on these issues, plus additional American car DLC and even a Hyundai. Now, it will reach the PlayStation 5, just three months ahead of Forza Horizon 6. Which is an opportunity, as Microsoft’s game may be released in May, but not for the PS5.

Ride 6

Ride 6 03

Release date: 12th February 2026
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S

Milestone’s road and race motorcycle series, which has received over six million unique players across the past three instalments, is back. Ride 6 will feature 45 tracks and ~340 bikes (when you include the plethora of optional DLC packs), plus gorgeous Unreal Engine 5 graphics.

A festival vibe has been added to the lengthy career mode this time, alongside ranked cross-platform multiplayer and, for the first time in this franchise, dirt racing. It’s still, ultimately, about earning credits before buying and tuning motorbikes, which is no bad thing.

The series has a loyal fanbase, but 2023’s Ride 5 was perhaps feeling a little stale. Again, we’ll have our full review soon. Also worth noting that owners of the Ultimate Edition can start playing from 9th February.

Gear.Club Unlimited 3

Gear.Club Unlimited 3’s car customisation and dealerships shown in first gameplay

Release date: 19th February 2026
Platforms: Nintendo Switch 2 (PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S to follow)

In what started as a mobile series has slowly morphed into a console-first franchise, and Gear.Club Unlimited 3 will continue that trend when it releases this month as a timed Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive.

Set across Japan and France, this Eden Games-created accessible racing game will see you carve up seaside roads and dive between highway traffic. You progress through set events, visiting your lavish garage to unlock and modify vehicles in between challenges.

PC, PlayStation and Xbox versions are confirmed for a later release too.

Tokyo Xtreme Racer, PS5

Tokyo Xtreme Racer will release on PS5 in February 2026

Release date: 25th February 2026
Platforms: PlayStation 5 (already on PC)

When the reboot for this long and storied franchise was announced only for PC, it was to the chagrin of many players who had grown up with it on PlayStation. However, having completed an early access programme, Tokyo Extreme Racer will finally arrive on PS5 this month.

Digital only in most markets, with Japan the only place to offer a disc, the nighttime highway racer’s simplicity and charm have won it a whole host of brand new fans. When the Traxion Team tested the work-in-progress version, we were enamoured by its eccentricity.

Rave Racer

Namco's Rave Racer to receive first-ever home console release 02

Release date: 26th February 2026
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S

Hamster, with its Arcade Archives series of cabinet ports, is treating us this month. Not content with the aforementioned Top Speed/Full Throttle, it will also be converting Rave Racer for home use for the very first time.

Following its original Ridge Racer re-release last year, Rave is technically the third game in the Namco racing series – it built upon the original with additional tracks, and was released in the same year, but earlier than Ridge Racer Revolution.

iRacing Arcade

iRacing Arcade February racing game 2026

Release date: February 2026
Platforms: PC (consoles to follow)

Originally scheduled for December 2025, iRacing Arcade will now initially launch on PC this February, with consoles to follow later. A definitive day is yet to be confirmed.

This is a cartoonish, colourful take on sim racing, with accessible handling, a career and cross-platform online multiplayer. The aim is to be an entry-level for more serious racing. So while it’s easy to drive, you will have to master the (miniaturised) circuits and consider tyre wear, fuel usage and damage.

Created for iRacing by the Original Fire Games team, who created Circuit Superstars and Karting Superstars, this diminutive outfit has a knack for delivering eminently playable games.

Bonus: Assetto Corsa Rally Monte Carlo update

Opinion: Why we can't wait for Assetto Corsa Rally's Monte Carlo stages

Release date: TBC (February anticipated)
Platforms: PC (consoles later)

Right, it’s not a new game, but it is a significant update for a title currently in early access. We don’t even know if it arrives this month, either.

But what we do know is that two cars (one the Skoda Fabia) and two new, storied laser-scanned stages are imminent additions to Assetto Corsa Rally.

Labollenne (Col de Turini) and Sisteron are both seminal stages in Monte Carlo history, and should showcase the game’s ability to handle mixed tyre types and changeable conditions.

“These stages are incredibly important for AC Rally, given how hardcore rally fans revere them.  If Supernova and Kunos can replicate the changeability and atmosphere of the real-world event, it’ll stand their sim in good stead,” said Traxion’s Ross McGregor recently.

Our money is on a February release.
