Ahead of Ride 6, creator Milestone has let Traxion know just how popular the series is. In short, very.

The last three Ride games to release have amassed over six million unique players, according to its developer, Milestone.

The trio consists of Ride 3 (2018), Ride 4 (2019) and Ride 5 (2023), and while Traxion wasn’t able to secure individual release-specific figures, the total is impressively large.

The series includes real-world licensed road and racing motorcycles, in what is often dubbed ‘the Gran Turismo of bikes’, used throughout a single-player campaign and multiplayer modes.

Utilising Unreal Engine technology, Ride 4 was a breakthrough internet sensation, after replay footage could be mistaken for real-world action, such was the graphic fidelity.

“Over the last three chapters, we had more than six million unique players, to give you an overall idea,” said Giovanni Nardiello, PR Specialist at Milestone, to Traxion.

“We know that there are a lot of players on the servers, we can see a lot of people playing Ride for a long time and we also know that there are a lot of people who make user-generated content, such as liveries and crash helmets,” expanded Paolo Bertoni, Ride 6’s Game Director, to Traxion.

“Some people are crazy about [UGC], and a lot of people really love the series. [With Ride 6], we want to make an even better game than the last one, because we want even more people to play and be part of the Ride series.

“That’s also why we put in [the option of] an arcade riding mode and work on the physics to make it much more accessible to everybody. We want more people and new people to come and play the game.”

The series has now spanned over a decade, with the maiden instalment launching in March 2015.

18 months later, in November 2016, a sequel arrived, which is of particular importance for the current Lead Game Designer:

“One of [those players] was me, because I fell in love with the Ride 2 and after that I decided to send the CV in Milestone and I’m here working on Ride 6,” explained Stefano Zanaboni.

Ride 6 will release on 12th February 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S (not Switch 2), although those with the Ultimate Edition can play from 9th February.
