New Automobilista 2 update addresses oval AI behaviour

Reiza Studios has released a new update for Automobilista 2 which apparently fixes some AI issues on oval courses and in multi-class racing.

  • TAA fixes

Reiza Studios has released an update for Automobilista 2 that addresses several AI-related concerns.

Thanks to the introduction of three generations of NASCAR-style stock cars, oval racing has experienced a resurgence in the sim of late, with the Pocono tri-oval also arriving in a pre-Christmas update.

Additionally, Reiza made the new content free-to-play for all AMS 2 players over the holiday period, a promotion that has now ended (more on this later!).

However, the Brazilian studio has moved to fix some oval issues for the new Stock USA classes and the IndyCar-like Formula USAs, improving the realism of their AI, especially at Pocono and Daytonal

Reiza has also warned players that the only other car classes to feature bespoke oval racing AI are the Opala Stock 1986, Omega Stock 1999, Stock Car 2019, Stock Car 2020-2022 and Super V8 categories, so don’t expect to see the same quality of racecraft from computer-controlled cars in other classes.

In other AI news, Reiza has also looked at improving multi-class racing behaviour, with slower cars now less of a mobile chicane when blue-flagged. The affected car classes are listed in the changelog at the bottom of this article.

Stock USA content Steam keys

The promotional phase, where Stock USA content was available to all AMS 2 players, has now ended. However, those who own one of the ‘Racing USA Expansion Pack DLCs can continue to access the new content by applying for a free Steam key here.

It’s a slightly convoluted way to add free content to the game, but Reiza has faced criticism in the past for its slightly confusing DLC structure, something which was partially addressed thanks to a total reorganisation in August 2025.

The promotion is only applicable to players who bought each Racin’ USA DLC separately, and not to those who accrued them as part of the full Racin´ USA Expansion DLC, the 2020-2022 Season Pass or Premium Expansion Packs.
