At last, Automobilista 2’s DLC structure is being changed
In an attempt to streamline purchases, AMS2’s DLC sets have been changed - although the total value proposition isn’t clear until a full Steam Store rollout has been completed.
A perpetual bugbear of Automobilisa 2 is the way it structures many, many, paid-for downloadable content items.
Developer Reiza Studios also made it doubly confusing recently with an early launch of an IMSA bundle, covering all cars and tracks it replicates from the US championship.
Those who purchased it before the Endurance Pack Pt3 did not receive the IMSA items in that bundle. They were marked with an asterisk when purchasing, but the description of what that entailed changed twice in a matter of days, and that led to some confusion in our YouTube comments, for example.
Hopefully, such a scenario is avoided with a restructure, which is set to take place later today, 4th August 2025.
The following 11 DLC packs will be delisted from Steam, although the included contents is not being removed, rather moved to new, re-named and re-bundled packs.
To reiterate, according to developer Reiza, none of the content included in these now previous packs is being made obsolete – it’s just that the bundles themselves will no longer be available.
For example, the 2020-2022 season pass is no longer available, as, well, we’re three years past that. So instead, the content that was part of that is now in different sets.
It originally included the following for £79.99:
Premium Track Pack: Hockenheim, Silverstone, Nürburgring, Spa‑Francorchamps, Monza, and Nürburgring
Racin’ USA Full Expansion (Parts 1, 2, 3, and Pt4 when released)
Adrenaline Pack Pt 1 & Pt 2
Brazilian Racing Legends Pack Pt 1
Historical Track Pack Pt 1
Supercars Pack Pt 1
There is no longer a clear equivalent, so instead, the biggest bundles for newcomers are the Racin´ USA Full Expansion Pack (now reduced from $39.99 to $19.99), the Premium Track Pack (now reduced from $39.99 to $19.99) and the overall IMSA-themed set.
The following, newly organised, packs are available:
IMSA Bundle (cars and tracks)
Racin´ USA Full Expansion Pack
Premium Track Pack
IMSA Track Pack
Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans
Nürburgring 2025
Endurance Pack Pt1
Endurance Pack Pt2
Endurance Pack Pt3
Lamborghini Dream Pack Pt1
Brazilian Racing Legends Pack
Supercars Pack Pt1
Adrenaline Pack Pt1
Adrenaline Pack Pt2
Historical Track Pack Pt1
Historical Track Pack Pt2
Formula HiTech
Of note, the Premium Track pack or two Historical Track Packs seem to be the only way to pick up five circuits that were previously available separately. The new 2025-spec Nürburgring remains a standalone item alongside Le Mans.
Automobilista 2 recently released both the aforementioned updated German venue and Endurance Pack Pt3, which Traxion recently tested on our YouTube channel. At the time of writing, not all DLC packs have changed on Steam to reflect the pricing.
