MXGP 2020 update improves online experience

MXGP 2020 update

One of the minus points to MXGP 2020, in my opinion, was the online functionality which would be suitable for 2008, but not 2021. Thankfully, this has been improved with the new patch, 01.0.0.3, out now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One and PC.

I mentioned a couple of these foibles in my review of the game recently. When playing in the Time Attack mode, online leaderboards were notable only by their absence. It felt like an essential item was missing, but this latest update now adds this feature.

Likewise, when playing online against rivals, you could only entry public lobbies and then when in one, track voting was the only option. Now, you can set up private lobbies and when you create one, you can select a specific track.

Lovely. Elsewhere, the Track Editor has been revised to make it easier to complete tracks, with the addition of both an altimetric viewpoint and error messages when part of a track cannot be placed.

For the single-player Championship mode, the option to select the tracks you race has been added, include user-created areas. A feature which is in developer Milestone’s other recent motocross game, Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 4.

The full changelog is listed below for you. With such a massive workload of late, also releasing Ride 4 within the last six months and the upcoming Hot Wheels Unleashed, I’m happy Milestone has had time to tweak a few elements for MXGP 2020. As always, let us know your thoughts via social media.
