The second new Expansion DLC for Forza Horizon 5 was announced on Thursday, 23rd February, and this time it’s all about a Rally Adventure. Forza’s new Rally Adventure is slated to drop next month, on 29th March, and there are a few different ways about getting it when it gets here.
This is the latest Expansion since the Hot Wheels Expansion was released back in July of 2022. For the most part, the same methods apply here as well.
Premium Edition
If you purchased the PREMIUM EDITION of the game already, which normally retails for $99.99/£84.99, you’re already set – apart from having to download the expansion, more on that later.
Overall, if you have the Premium Edition, Premium Add-ons Bundle, Expansions Bundle, or if you decide to purchase it as a standalone product, you will have access to the Rally Adventure Expansion DLC.
ATTENTION STANDARD EDITION GAME OWNERS
For those with the base game of Forza Horizon 5 ($59.99/£54.99), you have a few ways to go about getting the new Rally Adventure Expansion DLC.
Forza Horizon 5 new Expansion price
There are three added expenses you can choose from, the easiest and cheapest way being to shell out $19.99/£14.99 for the new Rally Adventure Expansion DLC on its own.
Premium Add-ons Bundle or Expansions Bundle
The most inclusive one is the Premium Add-ons Bundle, which includes not only this new DLC, but will also give you the Welcome Pack, the Car Pass, the VIP Membership, as well as the previous Hot Wheels Expansion. This retails for $49.99/£39.99, so it’s almost like buying the whole game over again.
If you don’t need all the extra stuff, or you own the Deluxe Edition ($79.99/£69.99) that already has the Car Pass, you might look at getting the Expansions Bundle. This leaves out the Car Pass, Welcome Pack and VIP Membership, but it does give both the Hot Wheels and this new Rally DLC for $34.99/£26.99.
WHAT ABOUT PLAYERS ON GAME PASS?
The STANDARD EDITION of Forza Horizon 5 is included for free with a Game Pass subscription.
Both the DLC alone and the Premium Add-ons Bundle are discounted for Game Pass members, the DLC costing $17.99/£13.49 and the Bundle $44.99/£35.99. The Expansions Bundle is not provided at any discount for Game Pass Members.
How do I download Forza Horizon 5’s new Expansion?
The Expansion Pack DLCs come separately, they won’t automatically download even if you have an edition of the game with it in there already, so you’ll need to visit the Xbox console store, Xbox PC store or Steam PC store and download it once your general game patch is installed.
The patch was released yesterday, 28th March 2023. Now, visit the store and select ‘install’. You will then need to wait for a separate install for the Rally Adventure DLC alongside the game patch.
If you don’t own a version of Forza Horizon 5 that included the Premium Add-ons Bundle or Expansions Bundle, you must visit the digital store, purchase the Rally Adventure DLC and then go through the separate installation process.
On the PC Xbox store version, the Rally Adventure pack weighed in at an additional 17.81GB.
In the last Hot Wheels Expansion, the Steam version was initially directing players to the Xbox store to install it. If that is the case again, visit the Steam store page for the Expansion and download from there when it becomes available.
How to find Rally Adventure on the map
Once you’ve downloaded and installed Rally Adventure, you then must travel to it within Forza Horizon 5 to start playing through the expansion. It will appear on the main Mexican map, north west, just above Dunas Blancas.
There will be a large ‘Rally Adventure icon which you can set as a waypoint and drive to, or alternatively, fast travel to the nearby Horizon Baja Outpost and then drive from there.
Once arrived, hit ‘X’ to travel to the Horizon Badlands Expedition and begin your Rally Adventure.
How to leave Forza Horizon 5’s Rally Adventure
Had fun in Rally Adventure at the Rally Outpost, but want to return to Mexico? You must drive to the ‘Mexico’ icon on the map, south west, near Joya Marron.
The quickest way to do this is to fast travel to the Horizon Badlands Outpost, then drive around the corner to the helicopter. Here, you can press ‘X’ to travel back to the main Mexican map within Forza Horizon 5.
