What to expect from upcoming F1 25 game patches

EA SPORTS F1 25’s community-raised issue thread is firing on all cylinders, and it provides insight into what’s coming soon for the official Formula 1 game.

F1 25 has seen a marked uptick in average review scores, thanks in part to the return of Braking Point, a revised My Team mode and a host of smaller changes to handling and AI performance.

Outside of the game mode overhauls – those who enjoy single-player progression are in for a treat – ostensibly, the rest of the experience is similar to what went before.

The same goes for the patching process, with issues raised on the EA support forum, and then transparently published in terms of update status.

Posted by Community and Creator Manager James Bralant, there are four main categories: Closed ( no longer reported as an issue), Resolved (pushed out in a recent patch), Awaiting Patch (fixed and will be released in the next game update) and Investigating.

As ever with these posts, they are ‘live’ and updated regularly. But, on the release day of the standard F1 25 game, it’s worth a look now to provide a sense of what is just around the corner.

The full list, as of 30th May 2025, is listed below.

Of note, some odd presenter timing and radio message timing have already been fixed and are set for the next patch, alongside a tweak that prevents APX GP and Konnersport from being overpowered in the career modes and a change to the light rain visual effect.

For VR users who are unable to complete the rewarding tutorial, for now, use rewind once in non-VR and then switch back on your headset and skip back in time at your leisure – a proper fix for this has already been identified, also deploying in the next game download.

In the ‘investigating’ camp, which means there could be a fix, but it has not yet been found, important items including AI performance off the line (which is tardy at best presently), awry Asetek SimSports wheel vibrations, game crashes on PC (which afflict specific hardware builds (one out of three Traxion team members receive regular game crashes presently) and frustrating, balance-upsetting, bumps at the Spanish and Japanese venues.

Based on last season’s F1 24, however, the Traxion team believes that the issues here are much smaller and hopefully more straightforward to fix – time will tell now after the main release if the list starts to grow…
