The Crew Motorfest’s RC cars expansion arrives 6th May

The Crew Motorfest’s next Season 9 update arrives next week on 6th May in the form of a DLC expansion featuring remote-control cars. 

Dubbed RC Frenzy, a new playlist sees you drive diminutive RC cars in ten events, from races to stunt challenges.

In a throwback to retro racing games like RC Pro Am and Sprint, some events are played from a top-down perspective unique to the playlist on a new oval circuit. Split-screen multiplayer is also supported in this viewpoint.

At least five RC cars will be included, each featuring different handling characteristics tuned for asphalt or off-road. driving They are also customisable and can be played in a cockpit view, complete with a miniature driver behind the wheel. 

While free roaming, a unique handling system and jumping ability allows you to perform air trucks and drive on rooftops to explore previously inaccessible areas. 

“It’s a new way of discovering the open world,” Creative Director Julien Hummer told Traxion last year, adding that you may notice previously unseen environmental details. “You can go everywhere with this vehicle.”

A live-action trailer showcases RC cars racing around Ubisoft Ivory Tower’s office in Lyon, France, alongside in-game footage.  

The RC cars DLC follows a NASCAR-themed playlist and track creator introduced in Season 9‘s March update. While both were free for all players, RC Frenzy will be a paid DLC expansion, much like last year’s Chase Squad playlist. 

Pricing is yet to be confirmed for the standalone DLC, but it will also be part of the Year 3 Pass, which costs £24.99 / $29.99.  

Those who don’t own the DLC or Year 3 Pass can unlock one of the RC cars as a free Live Summit reward, or buy it with in-game currency in the Prestige Ticket shop at a later date.
