German sim racing hardware manufacturer Fanatec announced a spate of price hikes in April, in response to hefty U.S. tariffs. As a result, prices for its North American customers increased by as much as 50% (incorporating free shipping).
However, due to an agreement between the U.S. and Chinese governments, which rolls back the baseline tariff on Chinese-made goods to 10%, Fanatec has announced it has reduced prices for its North American customers.
The 10% tariff is in place for at least 90 days, when a previous reciprocal tariff of 34% will be reinforced pending further updates. It is thought that the Canadian market has also been affected due to all Fanatec goods being shipped via the U.S.
For customers who ordered Fanatec products at heightened tariff prices, the Landshut-based company is either offering to refund the difference in cost or will provide a 25% discount code for customers to use at their leisure.
