It warned that prices could increase following President Trump’s widespread tariffs, and now it appears to be true, as Fanatec has increased its US pricing.
In a move that doesn’t apply to other regions, take those markets within the EU for example, several popular items from wheel bases, cockpits and steering wheels are now more expensive for those in the United States of America.
As a sample, using WayBackMachine to compare today’s pricing (8th April 2025) and the end of March (31st), the Podium Steering Wheel BMW M4 GT3 has gone from $1499.99 to $1799.99. That’s a $300, or roughly 20%, increase.

This is a higher-priced, premium product, but the price changes do affect more affordable items too, such as the entry-level CSL Pedals – from $99.99 to $149.99, a $50 or ~50% change.
The German company’s cheapest direct drive wheel base, the CSL DD (5Nm with QR2 base-side) has jumped 34.3% ($120) to $469.99 from $349.99.
A new Clubsport GT cockpit is up 29.4% and $250, from $850 to $1,100, while the cheaper CSL Cockpit has risen from $439 to $529 – a $90, or 20% rise.
America, under the President’s purview, placed a 20% tariff on imported goods from China in March, followed by another 34% set to kick in on Wednesday 9th April. This could lead to yet more price changes in the short term.

In retaliation, China placed a 34% tariff on goods from the USA, and in return, Trump threatened another 50% (totalling 104%) if this was not removed – the situation is a moving target presently for companies that produce products in China, such as Fanatec.
Traxion will follow not just Fanatec, but other manufacturers’ pricing over the coming weeks.
Update: Sim racing tech reviewer, Boosted Media, has published a list of all the Fanatec products affected.
