Next stop, the Emerald Isle: Euro Truck Simulator 2 set for ‘Isle of Ireland’ DLC

European Truck Simulator 2 developer SCS Software has revealed that the Isle of Ireland will be coming to the game.

Fresh off the back of the news that ETS 2’s incumbent United Kingdom map would be receiving a hefty rework and update, the Emerald Isle will also bring more left-hand lane driving in a future update.

Containing both the Republic of Ireland to the South and Northern Ireland to the north (naturally), Ireland will provide ETS 2 players with rugged coastlines, narrow country lanes, dramatic vistas and a few motorways to boot.

Confirmed attractions include the Giant’s Causeway, the Rock of Cashel (which was once the base of operations for the ancient Kings of Munster) and the famous Samson and Goliath shipbuilding cranes, with many more expected closer to release.

While a release date is currently unknown, at the very least, players should expect to explore the characterful cities of Belfast and Dublin, with the very real prospect of linking up to the UK via ferry ports.

With American Truck Simulator and ETS 2 set for outlandish road car and coach-based DLCs, all we need now is an Isle of Man and motorcycle update to make that Irish Sea trip all the more worthwhile…
