Cute racing sim Circuit Superstars now available on PlayStation

Following an initial launch on PC and Xbox One, the racing simulator game Circuit Superstars is now available on PlayStation 4.

Available from today (27th January), the Original Fire Games developed and Square Enix published racing title captured the Traxion.GG team’s imagination late last year, earning it an entry into our ‘Best racing games of 2021‘ list.

The game is centred around serious physics matched with an adorable design aesthetic. Easy to play initially, there’s a real depth to its behaviour, requiring expertly timed pitstops, tyre wear management and track memorisation.

The PS4 version is priced at £15.99/$19.99 and is equal to the PC and Xbox One releases, and thus includes all updates and content additions to date – such as the Bullseye Speedway and Impact Stock Car – plus cross-platform online multiplayer. You can also play it on a PS5 via backward compatibility.

In our review we said: “Trying over, and over, and over, to find the very best lap time. Fighting in unique vehicles, around varied tracks, for the podium positions. The thrill of success after several failures. Not for the trepidatious, this is a unique experience that showcases the very essence of motor racing – the competition.”

That’s not the end for Circuit Superstars though, as the development team continues to work through a road map that includes custom lobbies, AI improvements, ranked matchmaking and a Nintendo Switch release alongside new vehicles and tracks every quarter in 2022.

Let us know in the comments below if you’ll be picking this up for PlayStation and what you’re looking forward to in the future for Circuit Superstars.
