iRacing Bristol Dirt

With the NASCAR Cup Series set to race on dirt for the first time since 1970, at the Food City Dirt Race at Bristol later this month, iRacing will add the dirt-converted venue on 9th March.

Both the main Cup Series and the feeder Camping World Truck Series will take to the mud in real life, and so will iRacing competitors. The regular asphalt Bristol Speedway is already available in the simulator, this being a nice bonus addition in a timely fashion.

As you can see in the gameplay footage below, managing wheelspin and finding the right line will be the biggest challenges. According to the NASCAR statement, the release of the 0.533-mile dirt oval is “coinciding with the sim-racing platform’s Season 2 release build.”

What do you think about this new addition? Will you be firing up a Cup Series car to try it out? Let us know on social media.

It’s Bristol, baby!
