Formula Legends is a love letter to Formula 1. While we were enamoured with its stylised presentation and the amount of passion developer 3DClouds poured into recreating different eras from the motorsport’s history, the indie racer was marred by handling and AI issues at launch.
Chiefly, vehicles were cumbersome to control thanks to noticeable input lag, and the AI was wildly inconsistent.
In response to criticisms, a new update aims to address the handling and AI. According to the patch notes, the update reduces the aggression of AI opponents, making them less likely to crash into players.

It also introduces a “more sensitive and responsive” steering option, “designed for players who found the current model less comfortable.” Rather than replace the existing vehicle handling, the revised steering is optional. When starting the game, players will be prompted to select either the original or new “standard” handling.
Since the more responsive handling may affect lap times, the leaderboards will be reset in another patch expected to arrive in mid or late October. This patch will also bring further AI improvements, including new difficulty levels, rebalancing and additional bug fixes.
The update is currently available for PC and PlayStation, with patches for Xbox and Nintendo Switch expected to follow. More details can be found in the patch notes below.
