The Euro Truck Simulator 2 juggernaut continues rolling down the virtual highways and byways, as developer SCS Software has announced another spate of comprehensive map updates.
The Czech studio has announced that its Scandinavia DLC pack, which features the countries of Sweden, Denmark and Norway, will form the next part of its crusade to bring all ETS 2’s environments up to modern standards.
ETS 2 received some feature-rich updates just before Christmas 2024, as Greece was added to the game’s growing list of countries alongside the release of the v1.53 update, which introduced reworks of five German cities plus the Volvo FH Series 4 truck. The reworked Volvo was quickly followed by its Series 5 and 6 stablemates just a week before Yuletide.
One of the game’s eldest DLC packs, the reworked Scandinavian map will create a better visual transition between the newer areas in ETS 2’s New Horizons pack, which covers Finland and parts of Sweden.
Vegetation, road textures and major landmarks will all be overhauled, with the cities of Copenhagen, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo and Bergen (among others) all likely to receive a polish with SCS’s trademark attention to detail.
