Officially licenced Nissans coming to JDM: Japanese Drift Master

As JDM: Japanese Drift Master nears release, developer Gaming Factory has revealed another major manufacturer license set to join the promising-looking sideways sliding simulator.

After announcing both Subaru and Mazda as partners, the Polish studio has confirmed that Nissan is also onboard, which is just as well since the game used a Nissan Fairlady Z-clone for much of its early promotion work.

Judging from early screenshots, the JDM version of the 350Z looks like it will be joined by the R34 Skyline GT-R V⋅spec II in-game, but a confirmed list of cars has yet to be revealed.

Due for release at some point in 2024, JDM: Japanese Drift Master is set to provide gamers with an authentic drift experience, featuring notable drift cars (both licensed and unlicensed from what we can tell so far) and a manga-esque aesthetic.

Players can purchase and tune their JDM icons too, sliding them in both urban and touge-style locations with Gaming Factory hinting at more drift-friendly environments to be announced shortly.

An extended preview version of the game is available to try on Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store now, entitled JDM: Rise of the Scorpion. This prologue game sees you assume the role of Japanese teenager Hatori as he battles his way through the drift scene around Haikama. A challenge mode was also recently added.

We were impressed with Rise of the Scoprion’s Unreal Engine-powered visuals and driving physics in our hands-on article, so hopes are high that JDM: Japanese Drift Master will be the last word in drift games.
