Top-down arcade racer Super Woden GP 2 is set to hit consoles later this summer, bringing retro motorsport thrills to a bigger audience.

Released for PC users back in November 2023, SWGP 2 is developed by indie studio ViJuDa and features nearly 200 unlicenced – yet familiar – cars and a satisfyingly drifty handling model (car models can also be edited in-game, enhancing their authenticity).

When released on the 24th of July, console users can expect 40 tracks; including rally stages, street circuits, ovals and road courses, with four-player local multiplayer set to revive competitive couch gaming sessions of yesteryear.

An original soundtrack featuring Donutdroid and DJ Devito is set to complement the 90’s aesthetic, with Gran Turismo 2’s main menu screen clearly inspiring the visuals and car collecting game mechanic.

In our hands-on preview, we described SWGP 2 as ‘an addictive racing game fuelled by motorsport passion and nostalgia’, so if you yearn for fast-paced retro racing action then this could be the game for you.

Super Woden GP 2 will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch on the 24th of July 2024, costing $12.99 / €12.99 / £10.99
