F1 in Schools, the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) challenge program that encompasses “researching, designing, making and racing an F1 car of the future” is now teamed up with Frontier Developments, the development team behind the upcoming F1 Manager 2022 title due to release later this year.
The partnership will see Frontier Developments join the judging panel at the 2022 Aramco F1 in Schools World Finals, which will be held at Silverstone in the United Kingdom from the 10th to the 14th of July. The Aramco F1 in Schools World Finals will also appear in the upcoming F1 Manager 2022 game.
This competition, made for STEM students from all over the world aged 9 to 19, tasks participating teams with the challenge to “develop a scale model ‘F1 in Schools’ car with advanced engineering and produce highly creative and instructive presentations of their teams” where they’ll compete against one another on a 20-meter track where speeds can reach around 75 km/hr.
The challenge invites the students to learn a great deal about the world of Formula 1 through an educational environment. These STEM kids will learn physics, aerodynamics, design, manufacture, branding, graphics, sponsorship, marketing, leadership, teamwork, media skills and financial strategy though the program, and then they’ll get to utilize all of that towards their F1 in Schools car project.
