Following yesterday’s server maintenance notice, a new game update has landed for Gran Turismo 7 delivering some minor fixes.

It weighs in at 338.5 MB on PlayStation 4 and 421.8 MB on PlayStation 5.

New steering wheel force feedback settings

Last month’s version 1.15 update added new cars and races, but it also dulled down the force feedback levels for certain steering wheels in a bid to avoid injuries. When those high-powered wheels kick, you better watch your thumbs.

Now, however, version 1.16 reverts back to those original settings, apart from the following three cars:

  • SRT Tomahawk X Vision Gran Turismo
  • SRT GTS-R Vision Gran Turismo
  • Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo SV

If driving these three vehicles with the following wheel, the force feedback effect is now permanently lowered: Thrustmaster T300, Thrustmaster T500, Thrustmaster T-GT, Fanatec CSL Elite Racing Wheel, Fanatec Podium and Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro.

Lobby false starts

One frustrating element of Gran Turismo 7 is the current state of online lobby stability and a lack of features.

This was made worse in the recent May update as if you used the ‘Grid Start with False Start Check’ option, some drivers were given different start times than the rest of the grid.

Picture the scene. 10 cars on the grid, but one driver’s starting light gantry goes out before everyone else’s and so rockets ahead in the lead. A disaster. This has now, mercifully, been rectified.

As for adding in GT Sport‘s lobby options and host migration? Nah, not this time

Minor Tweaks

Other small changes have been implemented, mostly to do with the May 1.15 update. So rival cars’ wheel colours now match those displayed on the thumbnails in the ‘Lightweight K-Cup’ events in the Café menu book plus if you select a single race with random rivals using the Toyota GR010 HYBRID, it is now no longer a single-make event.

Otherwise, business as usual. Bigger content drop updates in the last week of each month, fixes throughout each month. We’ll be back soon with more Gran Turismo 7 update news when it’s available and let us know in the comments what you’d like to see next.
