At the beginning of the month, Reiza Studios teased us with the first half of a two-part developer update, promising further updates soon. This past weekend, that second part dropped with a ton of news including the timeline of the next big update, which will be by the end of the week. The big meat of the news is that Automobilista 2 will be upgrading to version 1.3.
We already knew that the physics were getting a big overhaul, but more specifics were unveiled in the second part of the November Dev update. I’ll let you read all the specifics in the blog post on the Reiza forums, but what I got from that was a giant explanation on the improved driveline capabilities along with newer, more accurate setups to go along with the changes.
There will also be improvements to the Force Feedback, with a new Default+ profile being included. The old Default profile will stay and Force Feedback in general can be customized. AI drivers will be getting more in-depth, and the Multiplayer Rating system is going Beta as well in the V1.3 patch.
Besides V1.3, Reiza also announced a few other projects that are coming to light, some of which will be included with V1.3 and some of which will fall in line before the end of the year. The Volkswagen Brasil / Acelerados Channel collaboration with Automobilista 2 released in demo form last week, and with the update later on this week, the same cars will also be added.
Racin’ USA Part 2, with nineties open-wheel beasts as a focal point. IndyCar and Champ Cars from Reynard, Swift and Lola will be a part of the pack in three Formula USA generations. The first, Gen1, will feature the 1995 IndyCar Series cars. Gen2 brings cars from 1998 into the fold. The 2000’s will be on display in Gen3. Three tracks, Watkins Glen, Cleveland Airport and a third track to be announced, will also be included.
Part of Racin’ USA Part 2 will arrive by the end of this month and some other parts will come by the end of the year. Also, Racin’ USA Part 3 will have OVALS! Nice! That’s coming in 2022, and the open-wheelers included with Part 2 will get oval specs when Part 3 drops. I can’t wait! It’s almost like an updated CART World Series is going to be on my PC in the near future.
The final bit of news in the dev update was about Nissan joining the party, along with two other major manufacturers, hopefully by the end of the year. Existing content and classes will be expanded upon when these are finalized. All in all, good news down the board for AMS2 fans.
I really can’t wait for the Racin’ USA content to finalize, but what about you? Let us know what you’re excited about in the comments!
